Directions

We are approximately 95 miles north west of Inverness. Edinburgh and Glasgow are approximately three and a half hours drive from Inverness via the A9 trunk road. Follow the A9 over the Kessock bridge, at Tore roundabout follow signs for Ullapool on the A835. Once you reach Ullapool follow signs for Lochinver. Pass through the hamlet of Elphin arriving at Ledmore T Junction a few minutes later. Turn left onto the A837, soon passing through Inchnadamph, past the remains of Ardvreck Castle and the magnificent expanse of Loch Assynt, finally arriving into the small fishing port of Lochinver. Carry on along the main, seaside road and then turn left at the junction signposted to Inverkirkaig which is approximately three miles along a scenic single track road. As you descend the hill toward Inverkirkaig’s bay, turn right at the 'No Through Road’ and 'Kirkaig Lodge' signs before you get to the bay. Our bungalow is the first building on the right and Lazybed Accommodation car park is adjacent to it.

There is an alternative route. Around ten miles after leaving Ullapool you will see a left hand turning to Achiltibuie, follow this road past the stunning outline of Stac Pollaidh and shortly after turn right signed to Inverkirkaig. You are now on the ‘back road’ to Inverkirkaig sometimes known as the ‘wee road’ or even the ‘wee mad road’ - you will soon understand why! Follow this beautiful road through tumultuous landscape eventually crossing the River Kirkaig. Carry on another half mile around the bay and then take a left turn at the ‘No Through Road’ and 'Kirkaig Lodge' signs as previously described above. We definitely recommend taking this route if you are travelling by bike, it’s a perfect cycling route.

If you are picking up a bus from Inverness please see the seasonal timetables via Citylink Coaches and Stagecoach Bus. We recommend you pre-book the Inverness to Ullapool section as buses can fill up.
