plus large sweeping deck with a wonderful view of Kirkaig Bay and Rubha na Breige peninsula.

This spacious accommodation has a compact, hand-crafted, well equipped kitchen plus dining table. There is a full size larder fridge, but no freezer (we can store items in our freezer if necessary). For cooking there is a full size oven with four ring hob. Please note there is no microwave.

The main living area has comfortable furniture and a small dining table and chairs. There is no TV reception, but there is a flat screen television with DVD player and an eclectic library of films to choose from plus a good selection of books. There is a wood-burning stove and electric wall heater. The cabin is insulated throughout with sheep's wool keeping it warm and cosy.

The Lazybed is designed to accommodate up to two adult guests. There is a king-size bed (alternatively twin beds can be made up) with comfortable mattresses, good quality bed linen and one bath and hand towel per person. We offer a laundry service as there is no washing machine. There is a hair-dryer.

The bathroom has a walk-in shower, underfloor heating, toilet and wash hand basin.

If luggage space allows, we recommend that you bring along some indoor footwear as the cabin’s flooring is slate, stone or wood throughout.

The complimentary welcome pack includes a refreshing drink and treat. Essentials such as tea including herbal, fresh ground coffee, sugar, salt and pepper should last a couple of days. Staying for four nights or more? enjoy a complimentary, homemade, organic foccacia, at your request.

The cost includes essentials such as bed linen, tea towels, kitchen cloth, bathroom towels, bamboo toilet rolls, Friendly soap and Ecover washing up liquid. We sell super dry logs at £12/basket. There is no extra charge for electricity, mains water or Wi-Fi.

WiFi now reaches inside Lazybed. There is also a signal on the Batbox path and in the car park. EV charging available for a small fee.

Why the name Lazybed? Lazy beds are basically 'old school' potato patches. Land dug out with drainage ridge and furrow, filled with seaweed. A simple and effective way for crofters to live off the land in the old days. Originally we had planned to do exactly this on the site, it was the perfect spot to have a lazy bed where we could grow tatties and kale. Our croft is hilly and we didn't want the upheaval or expense of a new road for access to build our first self-catering unit, so we decided to put it in place of the lazy bed, hence the name.
